Sammy was found by a local Staten Island family about 3+ yrs ago running in the streets of their neighborhood. Sammy is a male black lab retriever who is approx. 4 yrs old now & weighs over 100 lbs but is so very sweet & loveable, good with other dogs & very friendly, everything a lab should be. His owner happens to be a 77 yr old woman who has been trying to take care of him but since she was hospitalized 2 mos ago it has become more difficult for her to manage with him. She needs a home for him that can walk Sammy & give him the care that she no longer can & he deserves. She can no longer walk him up and down her outside stairs multiple times a day in order for him to go out. Sammy needs a new home right away, is that your home ? Would you like to meet Sammy ? We DO NOT do long distance adoptions because we do homevisits prior to the pup going to its new home. *We do not adopt out Siberian puppies (under 1 year of age) unless you have prior Siberian experience. *We DO NOT place in homes that rely on the invisible/electric fence as the sole means of containment.
