Bandyt

Young Male Siberian Husky

Meet Bandyt! Bandyt is a husky puppy who appears to have suffered a history of physical abuse. He was surrendered to a kill shelter by his previous owner, as he was reportedly hit by a car and suffered a broken leg, and the owner was not able to afford treatment. Another nonprofit organization saw that he was time stamped and stepped in to cover the cost of his treatment, with the intention of reuniting him with his previous owner afterwards. However, this organization’s veterinarian found signs of extensive physical abuse when examining the dog, and therefore did not allow Bandyt to be adopted back to his original owner. Now safe at husky house, Bandyt’s leg is healing after surgery, and he is looking for his loving forever home. He will be attending physical therapy to regain strength in his leg. He is great with other dogs but is currently being kept separate from other animals while his leg heals. Prior purebred Siberian Husky experience required for adoption. Please no homes with small animals or cats. Interested in adopting Bandyt? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.

Reese

Baby Female Bernese Mountain Dog / Poodle (unknown type)

Meet Reese! She isn’t available for adoption just yet, but we couldn’t wait any longer to share her cute little face. Reese is a mini Bernadoodle puppy who came to husky house with some serious medical issues: a dual aortic arch, which caused megaesophagus. Her original owners surrendered her to Husky House as they were not able to afford the surgery to address these medical issues. The initial plan for Reese was to wait a months before scheduling the surgery so she could gain size, but the procedure had to be moved up when she suddenly started choking one day. Thankfully, she survived the surgery that was skillfully performed by Dr. Hoelzler at Garden State- a surgery that only four dogs have survived EVER! Reese is still recovering and will be available for adoption once she is able to eat like a regular dog. Reese is a typically puppy: sweet, snuggly, playful, and dog friendly. Interested in applying for Reese? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.

Meet Maverick! Maverick is a spunky, energetic husky mix. He is great on a leash for walks and hikes, and would even potentially make for a good running partner! He loves to play with other dogs his size and does well meeting people outside of his kennel. Maverick does have some issues with resource guarding in his kennel, but doesn’t show this behavior in other parts of the kennel or off site. It is not known if he would resource guard in a home, but to be safe, potential adopters should have previous dog experience and should be willing to potentially work with him on this behavior. Out of his room, Maverick is affectionate, silly, and very endearing. Please no homes with small animals or cats. Interested in adopting Maverick? Daisy

Adult Female Shepherd / Siberian Husky / Mixed

Meet Daisy! Daisy is a husky/shepherd mix. She was surrendered back to Husky House by her previous owners who adopted her as a puppy. Daisy took some time to adjust back to being in the kennel and it is clear that she misses being in a home. She is a sweet and affectionate pup outside of the kennel, but can be nervous in her room. Daisy is also nervous around fast-moving cars and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard or in a very quiet neighborhood. She is excellent on leash on outings to low traffic areas (such as the woods or the beach) and enjoys car rides. Daisy can also get upset when people don’t respect her boundaries/personal space and therefore would not be a good fit for a home with young children. Daisy is a smart dog and knows sit, stay, and is pretty good at catching treats out of the air! Interested in adopting Daisy? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.

Rochelle

Adult Female Siberian Husky

Meet Rochelle! Rochelle came to us from a puppy mill and when she first arrived, she experienced a false pregnancy, which caused her to become protective against other dogs. She’s been living in a foster home for a few months and with the help of a professional trainer, is now getting along nicely with the other dogs in the house and even with other dogs who come to visit! A slow introduction would be best, but she no longer thinks other dogs want to hurt her. She’s housebroken (she pees on command!), walks nicely on leash and does not need to be crated, although she loves to spend time in her crate. She loves to tear apart stuffed dog toys, but won’t rip up anything else in the house. She does have a very high prey drive, so no small animals or cats for this girl! She loves children and has no guarding issues - you can take anything away from her, but she also knows “leave it”. She rides very nicely in the car and will wait until you tell her to get out. She loves to run and play, but will also snuggle up against you for a movie night and give you tons of kisses. Interested in adopting Rochelle?
