Misterio

Baby Male Siberian Husky

Meet Misterio! His previous owners brought him to the vet when he was found drooling, crying, and wobbling. They wanted to put him to sleep instead of paying for his treatment, but thankfully the vet contacted Husky House who took him in. We are awaiting the results of testing regarding the cause of Misterio’s symptoms, but it is suspected that he has a liver shunt. Now stable at Husky House, Misterio is occasionally wobbly when walking, sometimes appears confused, and sometimes cries without an easily identifiable reason. Despite his medical symptoms, Misterio is a sweet puppy who likes all people and is good with dogs ranging from other puppies to large adults. He is vocal and would not do well in an apartment or townhome. Prior Purebred Siberian Husky experience a must to be considered for adoption. Interested in adopting Misterio? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org to fill out an application.

Reese

Baby Female Bernese Mountain Dog / Poodle (unknown type)

Meet Reese! She isn’t available for adoption just yet, but we couldn’t wait any longer to share her cute little face. Reese is a mini Bernadoodle puppy who came to husky house with some serious medical issues: a dual aortic arch, which caused megaesophagus. Her original owners surrendered her to Husky House as they were not able to afford the surgery to address these medical issues. The initial plan for Reese was to wait a months before scheduling the surgery so she could gain size, but the procedure had to be moved up when she suddenly started choking one day. Thankfully, she survived the surgery that was skillfully performed by Dr. Hoelzler at Garden State- a surgery that only four dogs have survived EVER! Reese is still recovering and will be available for adoption once she is able to eat like a regular dog. Reese is a typically puppy: sweet, snuggly, playful, and dog friendly. Interested in applying for Reese? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.

Image of Nova

Nova

Young Female Siberian Husky

Meet Nova! Nova is husky puppy who was surrendered by her previous owners after a history of mistreatment. She was crated 24/7 which led to her going potty in her crate, which angered her previous owners. This led them to fully shave her body, which is not recommended for huskies as their coat helps with temperature regulation. Nova is skittish but gentle with volunteers. Hopefully as she gets settled now that she is safe at Husky House, her personality will come out. Please no homes with small animals or cats. Previous purebred Siberian Husky experience is required for adoption. Interested in adopting Nova? Kevin

Baby Male Labrador Retriever

Meet Kevin! Kevin is a yellow lab who was adopted from Husky House as a puppy and recently surrendered as his previous owners realized they were not able to give him sufficient exercise which led to him getting destructive inside the home. Kevin is a friendly, happy dog who loves playing fetch. He is good with other people and dogs his size; he has not been tested around small dogs or cats. Kevin is working on developing better leash manners while at the kennel and would do well in an adoptive home that will continue to work with him on leash walking (he is not aggressive but pulls on leash). Like most young labs, Kevin is a high energy dog and needs to go to a home that is committed to getting him sufficient daily exercise. Interested in adopting Kevin? Adult Male Siberian Husky

Meet Maverick! Maverick is a spunky, energetic husky mix. He is great on a leash for walks and hikes, and would even potentially make for a good running partner! He loves to play with other dogs his size and does well meeting people outside of his kennel. Maverick does have some issues with resource guarding in his kennel, but doesn’t show this behavior in other parts of the kennel or off site. It is not known if he would resource guard in a home, but to be safe, potential adopters should have previous dog experience and should be willing to potentially work with him on this behavior. Out of his room, Maverick is affectionate, silly, and very endearing. Please no homes with small animals or cats. Interested in adopting Maverick? Daisy

Adult Female Shepherd / Siberian Husky / Mixed

Meet Daisy! Daisy is a husky/shepherd mix. She was surrendered back to Husky House by her previous owners who adopted her as a puppy. Daisy took some time to adjust back to being in the kennel and it is clear that she misses being in a home. She is a sweet and affectionate pup outside of the kennel, but can be nervous in her room. Daisy is also nervous around fast-moving cars and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard or in a very quiet neighborhood. She is excellent on leash on outings to low traffic areas (such as the woods or the beach) and enjoys car rides. Daisy can also get upset when people don’t respect her boundaries/personal space and therefore would not be a good fit for a home with young children. Daisy is a smart dog and knows sit, stay, and is pretty good at catching treats out of the air! Interested in adopting Daisy? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.

Meet Goldie! Goldie is a “pocket pittie” who was used for backyard breeding before coming to Husky House. She was initially brought to the vet by her previous owners in severe pain while pregnant with her fourth litter of puppies, but they refused treatment and refused to surrender her. The following day, Goldie was brought to Husky House and surrendered, although unfortunately she was in worse shape and was unable to walk. She was immediately rushed to surgery but at this point, all of her puppies were dead and Goldie had a severe infection that she is still recovering from. Despite all that she has been through, Goldie is sweet, gentle, and is great with people and other dogs. She is doing well in her foster home where we learned that she’s even good with cats! Rochelle

Adult Female Siberian Husky

Meet Rochelle! Rochelle came to us from a puppy mill and when she first arrived, she experienced a false pregnancy, which caused her to become protective against other dogs. She’s been living in a foster home for a few months and with the help of a professional trainer, is now getting along nicely with the other dogs in the house and even with other dogs who come to visit! A slow introduction would be best, but she no longer thinks other dogs want to hurt her. She’s housebroken (she pees on command!), walks nicely on leash and does not need to be crated, although she loves to spend time in her crate. She loves to tear apart stuffed dog toys, but won’t rip up anything else in the house. She does have a very high prey drive, so no small animals or cats for this girl! She loves children and has no guarding issues - you can take anything away from her, but she also knows “leave it”. She rides very nicely in the car and will wait until you tell her to get out. She loves to run and play, but will also snuggle up against you for a movie night and give you tons of kisses. Interested in adopting Rochelle?
